REBUILD

REBUILD connects justice-involved and formerly incarcerated individuals of color with culturally competent therapists who understand this unique experience. Our Therapist Connectors—who are also justice-involved, formerly incarcerated, and have lived experience with mental health challenges—personally guide participants through the process. This includes identifying and vetting therapists, coordinating appointments, facilitating payments, and providing free therapy vouchers.

Our REBUILD Youth program serves youth 5-18 who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and is supported by the City of Raleigh Human Services Grant.

Darkness RISING’s REBUILD program benefits from the guidance of advisors such as Mariame Kaba and BEAM Executive Director Yolo Akili and is made possible through the generous support of our donors.
